Queensbury Queens of the Mountain

Welcome to Queensbury Queens of the Mountain!

What’s all this about then?

We are a ‘women only’ cycling club, established in May 2016 in the village of Queensbury West Yorkshire. We have 85 active members and this is growing every week.

Our aim is to encourage and motivate women to ride their bikes at any and every level - we have club rides that cater for every ability (see our
RIDES section for more information), and good links to other local organisations which can provide additional training and support.

Frequently asked questions

1. Do I need a road bike?

Not necessarily - you can ride whatever bike you want to ride, so long as you can ride the distance and speed of the ride you’re joining! See our ‘
RIDES’ sections for more info. Longer rides will be more comfortable on a road bike, and we organise these with road bikes in mind. We do aim to have regular MTB rides too - see the ride schedule for more info on upcoming rides.

2. Do you have agreed restrictions?

At the moment, we only accept members aged 18 and above. Our youngest member has just turned 18, and we have ladies in their 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and 60’s!

3. I haven’t ridden a bike in AGES and I’m nervous on the roads, but I really like the sound of this.

Get in touch with us, via our
contact page . There are various things we can suggest if you’re keen to ride:

- We can buddy you up with one of our members who will accompany you on a ride (either a club ride, or something arranged outside of a club session).

- You can join one of our regular Breeze rides which are always on traffic free paths.

- We can point you in the direction of cycle coaching sessions and other Breeze rides in the area to help you build confidence.
